Many data scientists, professionals and students alike, have come to terms with the fact that they will have a professional life to earn money and if they want to have an impact in the world they can do that outside of their daily work - may it be through volunteering or donations.
But data science can be so much more than product line optimization and data cleaning. Data can change the world!
At CorrelAid we want to show that having a positive impact and working with data don’t have to be separate aspects of your life. As programmers and scientists we are equipped with a unique skill set to contribute to the Social Good. Therefore, we offer a platform for coders, analysts, engineers, hackers and all other digital natives that see the beauty in expressive diagrams and figures and know of the dormant potential of the dustiest of data sets; a platform to use these extraordinary qualities to make the world a better place.
There is an uncountable amount of charities, NGOs, and associations that either don’t know what they can do with the data that they are inevitably gathering, or don’t have the resources to hire expensive consultancies to help them bring it to use.
CorrelAid connects these data scientists urging to bring their knowledge to good use and organisations that are in dire need for help. Together we can shape a better future!
If you want to know more about how you, too, can use your skills to improve society, then come to our lunch info event (free sandwiches) in the break on the 29th of May at HG00.310. From first year bachelors to already working professionals, everybody has something to offer.
